JAPANESE SINGER-SONGWRITER SAYURI PASSES AWAY AT 28
MANILA, Philippines – Japanese singer-songwriter Sayuri, renowned for her contributions to anime series like My Hero Academia and Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi), has passed away at the age of 28, as confirmed by her husband, Amaarashi, on Friday, September 27.

The gospel music community is grieving the loss of three members of The Nelons, a Grammy-nominated family gospel group, who tragically died in a private plane crash in Wyoming on July 26, which took the lives of all seven people on board.

During his Juneteenth "Pop Out" event at the Forum, Kendrick Lamar transformed it into a healing livestreamed celebration of unity in Los Angeles. Tyler, The Creator, Steve Lacy, YG, and other rising LA rappers and artists were among the performers in Lamar's three-hour event lineup.

MELT FESTIVAL ENDS AFTER 2024 DUE TO INDUSTRY CHANGES
It has been announced that due to major shifts in the festival industry, this year's MELT festival in Germany will be its last.
Launched in 1997, MELT has become one of Germany's largest outdoor electronic music festivals. However, organizers have decided to conclude the festival, citing "insurmountable changes in the festival landscape" as the primary reason for this difficult decision.
Festival director Florian Czok commented to DJ Mag: "Despite our dedication and efforts in recent years, we acknowledge that the original MELT no longer fits into the German festival market and cannot survive the recent developments without drastically changing its concept. It's a tough decision, but we believe it's time to explore new paths and make room for fresh ideas."
MELT 2024 is scheduled for July 11 to 13 and will return to its usual venue, Ferropolis, also known as the City of Iron, in Gräfenhainichen, Germany.

They will be headlining the renowned South by Southwest (SXSW) festival, thanks to A'Rise by Heineken.
For the past two seasons, A'Rise has served as a focal point for creativity, providing a space for producers, DJs, rappers, muralists, fashion designers, visual artists, photographers, and videographers to connect, collaborate, and innovate.
This occasion marks the first time that three local artists will be featured at SXSW, the world's largest music industry conference and festival, attracting musicians, producers, talent scouts, and industry leaders from across the globe.

In a lawsuit filed in New York state court, a member of the Recording Academy alleges that the former organization's president, former head of Grammy Award Neil Portnow, drugged and sexually assaulted her in a New York hotel in 2018. The lawsuit also alleges that the Recording Academy aided and abetted the assault and protected its reputation by silencing the woman and other women in the music industry.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, is described as a musician with a history of performing at prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall. She was also previously a member of the Recording Academy, the non profit organization that administers the Grammy Awards.
As stated in the lawsuit, the woman, who is a journalist, met Mr. Portnow at an event for the 60th Grammy Awards in January 2018. She later requested to interview him for her magazine, and the interview took place in New York in May of that year.
The victim, who is a journalist, claims that she was sexually assaulted by Mr. Portnow during a professional meeting. She alleges that he provided her with a drink and that she felt disoriented afterwards. She has filed a lawsuit against Mr. Portnow and the Recording Academy, and has asked for compensation for the emotional distress and harm caused by the incident.

Las Vegas police have announced that they've arrested Duane Davis in relation to the murder of Tupac Shakur in 1996. "After more than two decades, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office continue to pursue justice for Tupac Shakur and his family,” said District Attorney Steve Wolfson". While Davis is not believed to be the one who pulled the trigger, authorities say he may have provided the weapon and helped plan the attack. This comes after a long, arduous investigation with little progress until now.
In essence, the indictment says that Duane Davis is accused of giving a gun to someone with the goal of harming Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight. It's also alleged that the act was carried out for the purpose of advancing the "South Side Compton Crips," which is a gang.
Keefe D has been arrested in relation to the Tupac Shakur murder case, and his wife's home was searched by police earlier this year. Keefe D has also talked about the case before, saying that he gave his nephew the gun used in the killing. The case is still ongoing.

Shuhada' Sadaqat, also known as Sinéad, was an Irish singer, songwriter, and political activist. She was born Sinéad Marie Bernadette O'Connor on December 8, 1966, and died in July 2023. The Lion and the Cobra, her first studio album, was published in 1987 and reached the international charts.
In a 2021 interview with People magazine for the promotion of her biography "Rememberings," O'Connor claimed she had taught her kids the value of safeguarding her music and cash.
She claimed that if she were ever discovered dead, she instructed them to call her accountant before calling 911.
She explained to the journal, "See, the artists are much more valuable when they are dead than when they are alive. It's kind of disgusting what record labels do, considering Tupac has released many more albums since his death than he ever did when he was alive.
"That's why I've always told my kids, ever since they were little, 'If your mom passes away tomorrow, call my accountant before you call 911 and make sure the record companies don't start releasing music.'"

DEATH OF RANDY MEISNER
Randy Meisner passed away on Wednesday at a hospital in Los Angeles. He was a founding member and the original bassist of the Eagles, whose angelic tenor powered singles like "Take It to the Limit" and helped propel the breezy country-rock group from the Los Angeles club circuit to the peak of 1970s rock. He was 77.
According to the band's website, chronic obstructive lung disease complications were the cause. According to the group, Randy "was an integral part of the Eagles and instrumental in the early success of the band."
According to vocalist Vince Gill, who joined the Eagles in 2017, "God, he had the most beautiful voice," in a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times. Taking over Mr. Meisner's soaring vocal responsibilities for "Take It"

QUEEN OF ROCK & ROLL DIED PEACEFULLY
Swiss popular Queen of Rock & Roll singer Tina Turner died at the age of 83. She and her ex-husband Ike by name became famous in the 1960s with different songs which include "Proud Mary, River Deep, and Mountain High".
Queen of Rock & Roll has battled with quite several ailments recently before her death, including sicknesses like Stroke, kidney failure, and even cancer.
She got divorced from her husband Ike, who was abusive in 1978, and pursued a more advanced level as a solo artist in the 1980s.
The announcement of her death was done on her Instagram page.
"With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow," the post said.
"Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work; her music”
